Headteacher welcome:

Welcome to St. Swithun’s Catholic Primary School. Our school’s Mission is to ‘Love one another as Jesus loves us’, so, we aim to provide an inclusive community where everyone is valued for their own individual talents and personality. We work hard to offer our children a strong spiritual and moral base, a rich, exciting and challenging curriculum and a stimulating learning environment, enabling them to reach their full potential. Our children achieve very well academically. Music is a strong feature of our school with children having the option to learn a range of instruments with peripetetic music teachers.

At St. Swithun’s we believe that parents are the first and most important educators of their children. The staff and governors of St. Swithun’s School therefore foster and encourage an open and supportive partnership between home, school and parish so that together we can help each child to develop in a happy, secure and caring atmosphere.

We are closely linked with our Parish Church. Fr. Simon is a frequent and welcome visitor to our school.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have.

In these extraordinary times, we take the school community’s health and safety very seriously. Our risk assessment explains how we have managed the school during the pandemic. It has been a very stressful time for all staff, but I have been delighted to see our children running eagerly through the school gate every morning!
